I don't read the clue as saying that at all. I read the slashes as "or" in this case, so it says band or artist or label featured in an anthology. Stax is a label featured in anthology. It doesn't say anything about being related to a specific album in the anthology.

But, it is a garbage, unclear, clue, so you could be right that your interpretation was the intent.

It says played with a Band (or) artist (or) label featured in a VMP anthology............it doesn't say played with someone who was on a label featured in the VMP anthology.

Correct.

Also correct Storf is bad at clues.

If I were a betting man I would place my bet on Bob Dylan, since there has already been a few colored pressings of his new record announced and we have not yet received an announcement in kind of a VMP exclusive which is leading me to believe that they could be holding off to announce the VMP exclusive along with the July ROTM announcement.

That all being stated, I think The Greatest as an album would be very “on brand” for VMP and would certainly fit a Storfer clue well, he has never put much thought or research into the clues usually we over-examine them trying to read the tea leaves for meaning when there usually is none.

Assuming the clue last month were correct then King Does The King’s Things does not fit the clue, which is my point that Storf does a terrible job with clues and thus the idea that The Greatest is a front-runner makes perfect sense and completely reasonable.

Last month though there weren't really any other albums that fit, and we saw that he probably just miscounted the letters in the title by one. There still are several candidates for this one besides Bob Dylan and Cat Power too who actually fit the clue.

Like I said, Bob Dylan is probably the front runner but if you accept the premise that Storfer can mess up something difficult as counting letters than I am gonna assume the path with least resistance is probably a good path to go down. Cat Power using Stax Session men for the album part of the albums story I don’t think Storfer pushed his glasses up his nose shook his finger in the air and “welll ACTUALLY...” this clue (or any clue). I think Storf getting Cat Power/Stax clue incorrect is much more likely than him taking the time and looking up production notes on Ghostly or some of these more obscure (though more accurate) connections.
 
This artist/band has played with/recorded with/ or produced a band/artist/label that VMP has featured in a previous Anthology release.

If we are nitpicky about the wording we could also argue that the dead is not a previous anthology because it is not even out, yet. Although there might be some dylan collection to Stax or blue note as well.
 
I think if they were actually Stax session men instead of Hi Records session men it would be less of a stretch to me, even though they didnt play on any VMP anthology releases. (I don't even know what Stax songs/albums the Hodges brothers played on or if they actually did) We're really stretching the clue hard. It's possible Storf messed that clue up that bad, but that is messing it up pretty bad. He's all about Stax and Memphis too, so you think it'd be one topic he is a little less likely to screw up.

Correct. I completely agree. My point is the facts don’t matter as much as the story. I think more people are aware of the story than the facts. I also do not think storf is someone to look into the facts when queuing up a clue. He said Willie Bobo was from Latin America, why? Because he lazily made an assumption. IMO and a few others think it’s likely the Storf lazily made assumption about The Greatest but whatever. It’s probably Bob Dylan anyhow.

But, how is someone playing on the album who played on a Stax record not a tangible connection to Stax? Leroy Hodges played on waiting for Little Milton. Teenie Hodges has a writer credit on Hold On, I'm Comin'.
