Vinyl Me Please Classics

What about Canned Heat - Future Blues?

10 letters in the name, 4 words total and/or 4 letters in the second word of the name, 21 letters total. I realize it's a stretch, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Per Discogs, it might have had a repress in 2019 as well.

I thought about that too, but then I questioned whether or not blues-rock like that fits under the Classics track. If it does, I've been really wanting a top notch pressing of that album. By far the best Canned Heat LP imo.

FYI the 2019 reissue we got last year was digital and not great.

Sadly, not sure they would reissue something that just came out, even if that one was digital. It's pretty out of the ordinary for the classics track (not sure if has ever been done actually).

I think in this case they would, because just like the 2016 reissue of Lucille (that VMP did a few months ago themselves), the 2019 reissue of Future Blues is from the same label (Elemental Music) which I think is in Europe, and we know VMP doesn't really count European reissues in most cases anyhow.

But the 2019 is specifically listed as USA release which would preclude it, I would think. Lucille is listed as Europe and Storf looks at discogs when using his arbitrary "only referring to US reissues" disclaimer. But if we're keeping it real, who even knows anymore.

Yeah you're probably right in that case. I see it's cut by Kevin Gray too. Yeah, probably not gonna get the VMP treatment anytime soon.

If it's cut by KG it's probably a pretty good remastered cut, even if it's not AAA. I just know by reputation Elemental Music doesn't put out great pressings.

Just trying to look at other ways of looking at the clues. Pinkprint is Nicki's 6th release, and there were 6 CD pressings (removing the misprint according to discogs).

Is there any Electric Blues artists who's 10th release came out and there were 4 and 21 pressings of the CDs and Vinyl (would explain 2 numbers for Classics instead of 1 for the never pressed RHH).

Clapton is close but not quite. (Got to 10th release by counting his previous bands studio albums)

I got 4 distinct CD editions (looking at year of release) and 21 vinyl pressings if you eliminated promos, test pressing and the one club edition. I don't think it is Clapton, but once again that works with the clue.

Oh cool, must have been double counting years. So Nicki and Clapton both work with those clues.

Would definitely be a big fan of this month with those 2 plus White Stripes.

I almost want it to be Nicki just to see reddit have a meltdown...I think they would lose a ton of subscribers if that’s the album. No offense to those who like it/want it.

You think it would be less popular than Salt-N-Pepa? It think think they would receive about the same level of distain.

I absolutely think it would be. A lot of the Salt N Pepa hate was around Storf saying it was “political” and it not really being a classic hip hop album so it was a disappointment. People don’t really hate Salt N Pepa. People legit hate Nicki Minaj.

With Salt N Pepa there’s some nostalgia at least. I don’t see there being any nostalgia with Nicki. The problem is that every month with the clues now, people on reddit get attached to some album that would be awesome to get and then they are ultimately disappointed. We had people that were SURE it was going to be Section 80 or even Isaiah Rashad. Nicki is the antithesis of those albums hah.

No offense taken. Honestly this will be one of my favorite RHH picks if it is The Pinkprint but I’ll also love seeing reddit have a meltdown. Too many people who think a “curation” service should be specifically aimed at their tastes. People get too offended by it. Swap and move on.
If you’re going to have a genre based subscription, I think it should be a mix of all eras and different flavors of RHH. Bring on Nicki Minaj.

458405897 posts later.. so.. what's the frontrunner? :)

Assuming Storf is terrible at giving clues, it's Albert King's "King Does The King’s Things."

Otherwise, it's anyone's guess. Someone suggested Clapton but if we go back to a few months ago Storf said that after some high-profile Classics releases to start the year, we'd have a few months of more low-key releases. Eric Clapton does not strike me as low-key.
