Fab Poly-Rythmo album with a bit of a Latin vibe from their saxophonist, and perhaps my album of the year so far from a more modern saxophonist and a South African band (I dig the bass player especially). Partial cross-post from May challenge.

Charles Mingus - The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady. This is one of my favourite jazz albums ever, as someone who came to the genre via The Mothers Of Invention. Mingus has a real swinging vibrant dissonance throughout. Love it.

UNKLE - War Stories (Surrender All, SURR005LPXX, UK, 2007)
Like @Joe Mac, Psyence Fiction remains my favourite of the UNKLE output but I know for me that’s as much about nostalgia as anything else. This remains a belting album and Restless and Burn My Shadow are probably my two favourite UNKLE tracks from any album.
