What's Spinning

The National - I Am Easy To Find (Cherry Tree Exclusive)

Im going in! Managed to avoid reviews and snippets up until now so this is going to be a good uninterrupted hour!

2539

Edit: Damn this is a good album. Need to listen through again but the first playthrough really impressed me. Interesting to see Matt give up some of the vocals which made for a great change. Some fantastic songs here. Playing this again tonight for sure.

im honestly not familiar with african music at all, im just curious about a lot of stuff thats Somalia related and found this while diggin.
i want to grab that Volume 5 by Dur Dur Band that has been reissued as well.
do you have any somali music recommendations ?
What little I've heard I'd recommend the Analog Africa Dur Dur Band compilation over Vol 5 and Ostinato's Sweet as Broken Dates as well. I dig East African music but know much more about the west. Somali music is/was basically cassette only so there's pretty much no original vinyl to collect.

Clouds are gone, clear sky, that's more like it!

It think this is a good one for a lazy Saturday afternoon:
My listening room window opens to the backyard, so I'm enjoying this record while sitting in the sun.

Your backyard pic reminded me of this album. So of course now I have to spin it! Cheers! 🍻
