What's Spinning

Can you take a wide shot...cause it looks like you have cropped everything out.
I don't think anything's cropped out that would change how it looks? it's mostly in the angle of the picture and the color of the wall. There's a corner in the picture that's hard to make out because it's a bright shade of blue. The way the album sits on the speaker is the only way I can really take a picture that shows the record and the album cover (I rarely have it posted up there the whole time the record is playing).

Does

does the bass from the speakers not affect your turntable? I got the Klipsch R-51PMs a couple months back and put it on the credenza next to my LP60 and the bass was instantly making the record skip!
I've had this asked before too and I've never encountered this problem tbh... but I suppose I need to re-evaluate my setup according to the last few posts lol. It's just confusing everyone!

Hey if it's not affecting your records then more power to it! I'm just perplexed by how they're basically touching it and you've had no issues, it's breaking my brain. I had to drop $150 on some speaker stands cause they couldn't be anywhere near my turntable :/.

That is pretty perplexing! I suppose my setup is an anomaly then? Because honestly I've thought the same thing... it really does seem like the vibrations should mess with the turntable but they don't so I've just never bothered with it.

I don't think you do...it's more about context. You know your set up and the room.

I see something like this...I thought your MS Paint skills were 💯.

Gorillaz - "Demon Days"
I'm really glad I own a decent copy of the original pressing. The gaps between the songs on the VMP pressing honestly kills it for me

Jealous

I went through 3 VMP copies that had the same locked groove and just gave up on ever having a perfect copy.

Haha! Unfortunately my MS Paint skills aren't that good, I can assure you.
And yeah, I mean I'm sure even after several years of collecting and listening to records, I still make some rookie mistakes that would make a lot of the more seasoned members of this forum cringe... but I've never experienced much issue with my setup and I'm happy with it. I just get worried that people are trying to warn me that I actually have no clue what I'm doing but don't want to come right out and say it lol

I'd have to relisten to my copy and see if it has the locked groove everyone talks about. I don't remember mine having that issue but tbh it's not a record in my collection I tend to revisit a lot (mostly because of the gripe I mentioned in my original post).

That sucks tho, I feel for you. My copy of Be the Cowboy came in absolutely pitiful condition and I didn't know at the time they offered returns no questions asked, so I just bought a second copy from a different site. In retrospect, I think that was the best choice anyway.

As long as you are getting enjoyment out of it, don't worry what other people say.

That being said, I'd hate for a record sleeve to fall off the speaker and kill your record and/or turntable/tonearm.

Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Thankfully I don't keep the record in that position the whole time (usually just long enough to get a picture) and I think I would have it up pretty loud on an especially bass-heavy album to have that happen. If anything I feel like it would fall onto the floor off the side of the speaker (but I'm not about to test that theory lol). But I appreciate the concern! I try to be cautious with my records and would hate to think I'm unintentionally harming them with my setup. They're a big part of my life and I want to take care of them to the best of my ability ❤
