Pre-Order Thread

I really don't think they understood the hype for this album on vinyl until today.

They were thinking the goal would be hit within 1-2 weeks (with a 4 week window from KS). The fact that it was hit in less than 2 hours is awesome and should have been expected.

Also, there are other bands watching this...lots of 90's acts with ownership of their masters or recordings are taking note.

My brain is sooooo happy to hear this! My wallet is contemplating suicide.

I'm having a hell of a time deciding whether to get this...I've got a TP of the album already, but this one is just so pretty
Yeah, you've probably got one of the best pressings out there. lol
I have the original blue and (Very little) green splatter, but it's noisy AF. If this pressing is better, I might sell my other copy...or keep it for fun lol

I've considered framing some of the more limited variants I have that ended up sounding worse than their standard pressing counterparts. Seems a shame to waste vinyl on the wall, but some of the pressings are pretty bad...

It's why I don't concern myself or really follow this particular genre. I do have 新しい日の誕生 (Birth of a New Day) by 2814 reissued last year, but I don't even consider it "vaporwave" as much as a futuristic ambient release.

I would love HKE to reissue/repress HK.
I own the 2814 two track release they did for that Warped Records offshoot label. They totally sounded like Burial for a bit there. Still cool stuff though and that Birth of a New Day album is sick. Gives me Blade Runner vibes.

new Purity Ring album on purple and/or gray & white marble (VMP).

I LOVED Shrines, but nothing since, including the new single, has done much for me.

This is what VMP's drop should've looked like today.

Highly recommended.

I guess I was a bit hyperbolic. Max on Discogs is $70 but last sold a year ago and there are no active listings. So I'm betting some schmuck is going to list his for $100+ now.
gotcha. If it was regularly going for that much I might have considered listing mine and buying the new NC copy. I have the color version of that and it is a little crackly.

It’s clear to me that the marquee WB stuff is being handled differently. Honestly, I’m super onboard with a deluxe package for Love Symbol with a show and outtakes and b-sides.

Honestly, I wish they'd go back to doing what they had been prior to his death with regards to the vinyl releases. No frills, just great analog cuts (Purple Rain cut by KPG @ Coherent, 1999 by Grundman @ BGM), and reasonable prices. The added content of outtakes and b-sides is A) just fluff to justify crazy high prices and B) not all that great to want to re-listen, and especially not on vinyl.

That's just my 2 cents, and I know I'm probably in the minority - I know people enjoy the deluxe releases

Looks like there is also a red version, perhaps indie exclusive

I bought the Purple Rain remaster single disc because @Tyr recommended it. I got the box sets for it and 1999 on cd for pretty much the reasons you stated and I imagine that with Love Symbol I’ll grab the vinyl regular edition and the cd box. I’m happy with this.

WHOOPS I just posted in the introduce yourself thread, but OF COURSE there is a pre-order thread here!
