Had to take a break in the middle, but I just threw on Menomena. Thanks for this list, I hadn't listened to the Return to the Sea or Friend and Foe for a long time, and it's nice to be reminded how much I like them.

Also, I forgot how great the packaging is on the Menomena album!

The pleasure was mine.

I’m sure you noticed I was going for a peppy, mid-aughts indie-rock theme, and I guess I mostly succeeded until I went with Mass Romantic over Twin Cinema. Don’t get me wrong—Twin Cinema is great—but Mass Romantic is my favorite New Pornographers album so I couldn’t pass it up.

The one interesting thing for me in making your stack was Return to the Sea. I hadn’t thought about that record in a long time. The other three I listen to fairly regularly but I have Sea on CD, not vinyl. It’s such a good album! I will definitely dig up the CD to give it a listen.

I adore the whole first trilogy of New Pornos albums, but Mass Romantic is my favorite, so well chosen.

Return to the Sea is a *great* and weirdly underrated record. I was glad to revisit it. It got a nice 10th anniversary repress a few years back that sounds quite good.

I've been dying to add Night Piece to my collection! Every one of his albums are so unique and full of sounds it's always a fun journey to emabrk on with him ~
