Anyone watching Batwoman??? It is really bad. Horrible acting. Just ridiculous. I don't understand how anyone saw the pilot and subsequently ordered a whole series.

I started Watchmen. I'm very undecided after the first episode. I'll give it a few more. One question: what did those cows do to deserve that????

My kids are watching Batwoman and enjoy it well enough but still prefer The Flash. None of us quite get the long red wig, she looks way better with her short hair.

I've only watched 2 episodes. Does it improve? Even marginally? I'm going to keep at it because lesbian super hero. But oof. And yeah. The red wig is baffling.

I think we've only watched 3 and no, it remains pretty basic CW Arrowverse silliness.

It's a shame about Batwoman. The Rucka/JH Williams III comics was fantastic and worth a read if you enjoy comic books. The art is beautiful.

Hang in there on Watchmen, I have faith in Lindelöf after The Leftovers. I think he figured out the parts that frustrated many with Lost and with rich Watchmen mythos at hand I feel like this is the set up for some great TV.

The Leftovers season 2 discovered the importance of acknowledging the humor in the absurd self-seriousness of it all and Watchmen continues that acknowledgement in its first two episodes. So far, it has done an excellent job of creating an interesting world, having fun with it, and then also dropping 2-3 extra bonkers and surprising details like bread crumbs per episode luring us to keep going down the trail.

Yes, there are shows that work better for me as a binge. Mr. Robot is definitely one of those. And I've recognized that The Good Place is like that for me too. So, I've been saving the episodes.

And some that work better for me as a slow digestion. Pose and Succession are 2 shows I like to relish.

Not necessarily just for Ben, but I watched Modern Love over the last week. Very easy watch - which was perfect since 5 of my nights have been consumed by baseball. Some very nice and pleasant and heart warming stories in there. It's mostly an anthology. Although the very last scene kinda sorta pulls all the stories together. But really, they are all stand alone episodes. I enjoyed the one about the door man and the one with Anne Hathaway and the one with the martini glass. It isn't going to win any awards, it was just a pleasant watch to unwind to after a long work day and home team losses.
Glad to hear this about Modern Love as I'm all in on anything John Carney does (Once is my all time favorite movie, and Sing Street is criminally underappreciated)

you dont like tartare?

That final scene of The Deuce. I was worried at first but I should know better than to question David Simon’s vision. That choked me up a bit. The man is a humanist and an amazing storyteller. Bravo!

I rewatched S2 and then wound up not starting the Deuce as it began. Was s3 solid? Saw the reviews were weaker than with the previous seasons?

I personally enjoyed it. It does a good job of wrapping up storylines (as much as Simon wraps up anything) I would say if you enjoyed the first 2 you will likely get a kick out of this one too. Less pimps and prostitutes, more Pornography and a whole bunch of AIDS and gentrification.

Im a massive XFM/Karl Pilkington/Ricky Gervais show fan. I have watched the Idiot Abroad's at least 5 times and have listened to all the xfm tapes & ricky gervais shows at least 9-10 time.....I have a problem.

Anyway, one show that I have been holding back on is Karls show, Sick Of It. I binged them all yesterday and have to say I was surprised. Its full of Karls typical northern humor (which I completely relate to as a Northerner myself) but I didnt expect it to be so dark. It really does leave you with a feeling of hollowness. Really didnt expect the mood but it was a good series.

Anyone sign up for Apple TV+? None of the shows really call out to me much. Plus another streaming service...eh.
That Morning Show with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carrell will either be must watch or a complete train wreck. The other shows they are pushing (The Post-Apocalyptic Jason Momoa show, and the Emily Dickenson is a quirky fun teen show don't do too much for me.) If the Morning Show ends up being a thing I might sign up for a month and binge it once the whole season has dropped (I believe I read somewhere they are doing an episode a week drop plan). I think this will just be the new normal now with every major media conglomerate dropping their own streaming service.

Oh yeah The Morning Show could go either way. That’s the only one that I might be interested in, depending on what the buzz or lack of it says. I’m not into it so much that I’m signing up for the service right away though.
