Haven't been to a festival since Coachella in '22 but going to this tomorrow... Super excited

Also, somehow my wife and I have only ever seen four of these acts before

Thanks to us finally having baby sitters, and family to help, we're finally getting out to some concerts again. We saw The New Pornographers a couple of months ago, Ty Segall last weekend, DIIV and Sasami next month; and Beck in July

i can tell you that postal service is fantastic live... i almost cried on stage seeing them... and sleigh bells, broken social scene, metric, and washed out alone would be worth the day

We've seen Washed Out, Sleigh Bells, CSS and The Postal Service. I think we'll stick around late enough to see The Postal Service again but I wish Jenny Lewis was with them on this leg.

Probably most excited for CSS again, Death Csb, Warpaint, Miike Snow, and Phoenix but honestly there's not a band here that I dislike. It's such a good lineup.
It is only 7:30pm and I have drunkenly ordered an album that I already have on order. Thank god it was from Amazon so I could easily cancel it. They really need "drunk" as one of the reasons you need to cancel an order.
Happy 25th to the Soft Bulletin! Never seen this doc on it before, really interesting stuff on the dynamics and engineering of the album.

Does anyone have a Pearl Jam RSD patch they are willing to part with? Just bought a tour jacket and would love to stitch it on. Thanks!
Why won't the post office deliver a standard international package shipped by Deutsche Post? It's a vinyl record I ordered. They won't leave it in the digital package lockers, or ring my door bell. They just keep leaving me a "Sorry we missed you while you were out." Slip in my mailbox.

When I have had this happen to me, I never ask for re-delivery. I just ask them to hold the package at the post office for me to go in person to pick up. It’s far easier. Plus you might just have a lazy postal worker because I’ve seen them not bother ringing a doorbell and instantly waking away in instances like this.

despite rescheduling the delivery for today, no delivery attempt was made. No tracking updates, caught the mailman this afternoon, he had no package for me.
Pet Sounds is 58 years old today. I know what I'll be listening to in just a little bit. The Beach Boys will always occupy a special place for me as that was my late father's favorite band.

BB's were also one of my late father's favorites. But, really, the pre-PS surf music. I still remember hearing songs like Be True to Your School and Help Me Rhonda on cassette as a young boy zipping around CT in his Saab. We'll soon be coming up on a year since his passing and I appreciate you bringing up these memories!

I once read an article making the case for BB's straddling two worlds and appealing to two sensibilities. The surf music appealed to conservative reactionaries toward a perceived golden age. And PS on to a progressive fan base. This fits with my father's personality (although he wasn't conservative in politics - a liberal blue state Jew - but in some of his attitudes).

i don't know if the BB were one of my dads fav bands but one of those comps they released in the '90s got a lot of play time in the family van as kids.sadly my pops is no longer with us passed away in 2018 so the BB music will always have fond memories with me and also a special place in my heart.i'm sure many others can relate to this.
I have fully committed financially to the goal of buying a home, unfortunately that means a complete hiatus on record and gear purchases (outside of component failure). It’s definitely a first world problem, but buying records was the only thing that got me out of my apartment outside of work, haven’t been to a record store since January. In the end the short term “sacrifice” will be worth the long term results.
