Interesting... I haven't even noticed that option. I'm on mobile but mine just creates the image and I save it to my phone and upload it here ...

I think hotlinking causes Tapmusic to ping the last.fm servers again. Not sure why that would change much, but I noticed on ye olde forum that trying to link two weeks in a row caused some weird visual hiccups, so I just download the image and upload the file here to be safe. Probs better for Tap's servers anyway.
