I toyed with the idea of adding all my CDs and 45s to Discogs, did some quick math and determined I'd likely be robbing myself of the rest of my time on earth with such an undertaking so I'll be sticking with LP vinyl count only.

Max value has risen about 14K in the last month. To absolutely no one's surprise, there are lots of folks out there with more money than sense. Also further evidence this hobby has become much more about the pageantry - limited this, color that, numbered here, variant there - than the actual music. Think about that - the packaging and exclusivity of release is deemed more important and valuable than the actual music the artist put their blood and sweat into creating.

That deeply saddens me.

Vinyl in discogs is nearly up to date , I add in once cleaned ...others (CD’s etc) are a work in progress..other is all music related (cds , music DVD’s etc)

No shamming, all in good fun. But to your point, it has helped me "pace" myself and take stock of my purchases as well as taking the extra moments to think "Do I really want/need this?"

That part of it has actually helped with working on my want list, which seems to consist of more pricey albums now a days :)

Yep , I am now getting to the point where I think I’m nearly complete with most bands discography’s ...just the odd gap filler here and there ...

Having said that I’ve just added 29 items ! And found two that have mysteriously disappeared from discogs which is very annoying
