Going to try to do this monthly and already, gulp. Went a bit mad buying Beatles 7s from Japan. Still don't have everything in Discogs so it's a rough guess, partially based on how many I reckon I've got left of my playthrough. I entered everything in with a barcode but that leaves a lot and I've not been as thorough as I could have been about entering them. Hoping I don't buy 30 every month though...

While cleaning I discovered discogs had removed an item so I've increased the collection size from 2021. Hate when it does this, I'm sure there are a few others that have fallen out as well.

Overall I'm pretty happy with January. Actually "Net 0" when you consider that 5 records were stragglers from 2021:

Been contemplating a cull (my first since starting up) for some time now and was finally spurred into action by my desire for a copy of The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers and my lack of funds to just go out and buy one. Went to my local and traded 24 old records for 5 new ones and wound up with a few other fun things as well!

I’m making no distinction between “free” additions and purchases. I keep track of the amount spent elsewhere, and free additions take up the same shelf space. A couple of my new additions were ordered in 2021 and arrived this year.

February will be eventful. For the past 4 years I’ve been sporadically ordering records in Brazil and shipping them to my family there. My relatives who are coming to visit this month will hopefully be able to transport these records to the US (the jewel of the bunch is Tom Waits - Bone Machine). So February will look like a very expansionist month even if I don’t spend another dime.
