It's truly mind-bending (to me, at least). This album made Laurie Anderson's Big Science click for me at long last...the influence is so palpable. Albums that are able to have an impact on making a legacy artist(s) finally register will rank higher on my year-end lists.

The same reason that Bright Green Field is my favorite album of this year: I am now a believer and follower of post-punk, past and present.

I realized I fucked up and left Remi Wolf's Juno off my list which was both my favorite pop album of the year and the soundtrack to my final summer in LA (after 15+ years here).

I also forgot about Gorjia's Fortitude which filled the niche of the one metal album I wind up having a fling with every year.

Gonna have to redo the points I placed. Already 😂.

Also, shout out to the recs for Magdalena Bay's album. Shit's been on repeat all day while I pack. As far as the critics lists, Colourgrade and especially Fatigue are the two that have caught my ear but also seem like they will take awhile to fully absorb.
