Yeah, The word is derived from an old GI acronym, “Situation Normal, All Fucked Up”. Good to know that I can now use “FUBAR” as an acceptable guess going forward.

I would assume both have entered the dictionary at this point. I grew up with a Marine dad, so it was just a word I knew. Never thought of it as being an acronym (same with FUBAR) until I was an adult.
