I'll have to wait for the weekend to compare this new reissue to the 2012 Omnivore reissue -

Like Bellybutton, it sounds "fine". You can tell there's just something off. It's very flat...there's just a lack of "oomph". There is a post from the mastering engineer that did the digital files - and he suspects this was cut flat from the tapes -and not really "mastered" at all - which he says was much needed when he worked on the digital files.

Seems like that post, and all quotes/replies to that post are now gone, though.
