Cadence Revolution - Disques Debs International Volume 2

Strut has done some wonderful compilations over the years (check out the fantastic Next Stop Soweto series) but these may be my favourite. Disques Debs International was the main record label in the Francophone Caribbean, and this is top-class, sunny, funky music from Haiti, Guadeloupe, Martinique.

K Frimpong & Super Complex Sounds

K Frimpong is responsible for two of the best and funkiest African albums (known as Black, and Blue after the cover colours). This one is slightly earlier, a bit more highlife but still funky, and almost impossible to find until this Hot Casa reissue this year. Amazing stuff.
