What's Spinning

On this date in 1974 Bob Dylan had his first ever #1 album with Planet Waves.

Wait. What?

Yes. Believe it or not, Planet Waves, a Dylan collaboration with The Band, was his first #1 album.

The odd thing - Planet Waves was Dylan's first #1 LP.

The odder thing - today this is kind of a lost Dylan record as far as popularity goes.

The oddest odd thing - Planet Waves is a great record and deserving of a #1 spot even though lots of folks are oblivious to it's existence.

Looked for one I haven't spun in a while and this stood out. I remember when it was announced that these 2 were releasing a joint album and I just couldn't believe it. The result is pretty amazing, with an album of uplifting, energetic tracks!
