Going to have a VMP weekend. Records from there maybe take up a quarter of my collection, but there are loads I haven’t listened to since I got them. Starting with my very first one - Youth Lagoon. the Year of Hibernation. I remember being pretty happy with this when I got it.

New review turntable in place and is tradition, it plays the same first record that every new turntable (or an existing turntable after a cart or arm change) plays.

I always felt conflicted when VMP released an album I loved - yeah, I liked it, but I already had it, but given the choice between re-buying something I already have on vinyl or something new I’ll always go new. The album is still great though, and it does sound a little different to me on vinyl, especially the big hits. Still think the video version of Dancefloor is better than the album version though.

That rarest of things in this day and age. A record I found in a charity shop for a reasonable sum in good condition that I wanted to buy. So I did.

VMP liked inoffensive indie pop, and this is a perfect example. If I’d had Spotify at this time I would have listened and skipped, but now I have it I’ll give it an occasional spin. If I’m being absolutely brutal, but if this sound musically like the free music used on YouTube videos - Caisey Neidsat would definitely jump on a first class flight to this...
Also got the Secret 7 for this month, which is a bonus.

Fun fact, my copy of this has been on the cover of HiFi Choice magazine (on the platter of a turntable), more times than I have listened to it (three).

Also, forgot to upload Silvertones - Silver Bullets.
It’s no Super Ape, but it’s not bad at all. Probably the first time I’ve heard this with 2 working speakers, which really helped!
