What's Spinning

While cooking I was streaming some Beck but once I had everything going and it was just general cleaning and setup, I was able to put some wax on, so I put on something I came across while going through the stacks for PIFsgiving candidates, Hercules and Love Affair's "Feast of the Broken Heart" which has one of the funniest album covers ever:

If you like your electropop super crispy and immaculately composed and mastered, you can't go wrong with this album. Every track is an homage to the different facets and genres of electronic dance music. Their collab with John Grant is heart-wrenching:

And this one's got heavy Depeche Mode or Marc Almond vibes:

Went late to my local store and picked up the U2 BFRSD Gloria release. Wasn't going to get up early for it, so I took my chances and there were plenty left when I rolled in after noon. I remembered that I went to the first ever BFRSD specifically to get U2's Wide Awake in Europe, so pulled it out for a spin. I think I prob paid $19 or so for it. Was shocked to see what it's valued at on Discogs these days.

Released 50 years ago! I think I first heard it about a decade later, when I was 13 or 14. Cemented my love for Prog Rock.

50 yrs and it still holds up well. I have numerous pressings of Fragile. This one is the from the 2018 Steve Wilson Remixes box. Definitely have some formative memories associated with this prog classic. :).
