The Black Keys - Thickfreakness
Atwima Apatrapa Adowa Group ‎– Adowa Time

I saw what I assume was Black Keys first UK gig (at the 100 Club - wonderfully loud and sweaty) and wish they'd still make music like that. Plus a v drum-heavy album from Ghana that was for some reason one of the first African albums I bought - random but good.

K Frimpong & Super Complex Sounds - Ahyewa Special
K Frimpong Backed By Vis-à-Vis

Two of the best West African albums, both of which were reissued last year on the amazing Hot Casa label. The first is a bit more traditional Ghanaian highlife while the second is a bit funkier; both are wonderful.

Grateful Dead "American Beauty" (1970 Warner; 2020 Rhino 50th anniversary remaster)

So I'm delving into The Dead for the first time really. I've listened here and there, but never took my time with any of their albums. Picked this one up along with Workingman's Dead after all the talk about how great these reissues sound. Well, this does sound pretty fantastic.

REO Speedwagon - The Hits (1988, reissue 2020)

Finally continuing to listen to my Christmas gifts. REO was my first real concert (in 2015), and damn, what a great show! This is the Walmart exclusive press of their greatest hits record, on this very nice clear with black and white splatter vinyl. Classic after classic on this one!
