NBA is more player driven for me. The only team I follow heavily is the Sixers and then after that I watch for players i really like. I've been a Lebron fan since he came out, Steph and Klay are really fun to watch, Dame Lillard, Kawhi, Giannis, Harden and Westbrook, Doncic and more are all really fun to watch especially when 2 or more are facing each other.

As good as Trae is, I still think it was crazy to not draft Luka. I can't believe they traded down and they got Trae and then Cam Reddish who has been pretty awful so far. I think ownership wanted someone kind of flashy in Trae to try to sell tickets. He's still a good fit but Luka seems like a top 10 player already in the NBA and he's on year two.
I agree, but both players really fit the cities they are in imo. I'd rather have Luka, but I still see that trade as one of the more even deals in recent memory.

I can see that--NBA makes it way easier to be a fan of players than most other professional US sports. And they are all pretty active on social media so you get to know their personalities a bit more. For me, I'm a fan of underdogs, so I like watching these young teams who are finally trying to build the right way. Hawks, Grizzlies, Jazz, with some sprinkling of the Suns this season. And I feel alright about the Knicks' young core but I know that A) it will get screwed up somehow (cough Dolan cough), or B) the players I like will just not reach their ceilings. But I like RJ so far, I'm a Knox believer, I like Mitchell Robinson, I like Frank as a defensive specialist and Dotson. We have some promising young guys. Not so hot on Fiz as a coach but we'll see what happens this season.

Trae is better than I expected this early in his career, but his size just limits his ceiling imo. I wasn't crazy about them trading up for De'Andre Hunter either. But they're a fun, young team that's gonna score a lot of points so they'll be a good watch at least.

Yea--his size is an issue. Frank Ntilikina put the clamps on him in the preseason because he is just way bigger than Trae and really long defenders will cause issues for him. He has been very impressive though and scoring and playmaking are above what I expected. I thought he would be a bust to be honest.
I really like Hunter actually. I only saw him in some pre-season games but he looked pretty nice. Could be a good compliment to Trae + Collins.

Coming into it, I don’t know many of the players so I wouldn’t know where to begin following certain players. But that’s interesting and it makes sense. So far Trae Young is a standout to me.
Hopefully hes alright after getting hurt tonight

hahah love it from both guys. i do think it's pretty ironic for Jo to call KAT out about the fake tough guy act when Jo does it ALL the time. he's like a little brother--always pissing people off and when they retaliate he just puts his hands up and says "i didn't do anything!". But I'm all about new rivalries in the NBA.
I also didn't notice that Simmons put KAT in a choke hold. I think him and Jo might get suspended (KAT too).
Yea Simmons was clearly trying to hold KAT back with that so I'm hoping he doesnt get any games but I wouldnt be surprised because he does have him in a chokehold at the end. KAT and Simmons are friends through gaming off the court so I doubt it was anything malicious on Simmons part. Also I worry that Embiid will get more games than KAT for pumping up the crowd after the fight, even though KAT threw the first "punch" I think both are getting at least 2 games.

While it does suck that we are not that good of a team, it is moment's like last night's game against the hapless Bulls that bring out the joy of the regular season. TT was playing with passion and that dunk by Sexton was absolutely ridiculous. I'm holding to my preseason prediction that we are an 7th/8th seed in the east if Love can stay healthy. The cavs just have to find some chemistry, which will come as the season develops. We may have a new coach and a rookie PG, but with what we are seeing right now, which is renewed passion in TT could be the difference we need to get back in the playoffs.

Yea okay Jo...you think that. Somehow the refs deemed Simmons "a peacemaker" but I think he'll get suspended too for at least a game. And I think you are 100% correct in thinking that Jo will get more games for pumping up the crowd and doing the shadow boxing bullshit. It's weird to me that he acts like he won the fight when he just didn't do anything at all.
NBA fights are nothing more than glorified shoving matches, so noone wins those type of fights. Embiid is clearly in KATs head tho and theres no bigger win than that.
