Speaker Porn

The current JBL DD67000 seems to be somewhat inspired by this look.

Both of these speakers look so fucking surprised.

Just listened to some Avantgarde Duo XDs, and whew lad.

Did you get to hear them at Capital Audio Fest? I’ve heard a few people say they sounded great despite being in a room that’s likely holding them back due to being too small.

Yep! I was there on Saturday!

It was a hotel room setup and I was still pretty darn impressed. Very smooth, effortless, natural sound. My dad said they were his favorite speakers at the show, and that's including the very impressive DeVore Orangutan Reference setup they had.

Stopped by at a listening event at my dealer's loft space. Lots of goodies all around, but the McIntosh MA352 integrated tube amp and the Rogers Fidelity KWM-88 corona integrated tube amp are incredible. The Mac was driving a pair of Sonus faber Olympica speakers, while the Rogers Fidelity was driving a pair of Sonus faber Serafino Tradition.

I have always loved the look of the McIntosh stuff. Never been able to afford any though haha.

I have the Sonab OA-14's from Sweden but these are my holy grail speakers. I will never own them. The top of the line Sonab OA 2212's. Production ceased in Sweden in the late 70's. Peerless tweeters. Surely the sound of buxom angels motorboating your brain in blub-inducing synchronicity.

Another happy owner of the sonab oa 14. The oa 16 was my unreachable dream speaker. I used to go listen to it at my local hifi store and bemoan it’s unreachable price. The oa 16 has a bigger woofer (and two additional tweeters) which solves the slightly deficiency of the oa 14s but the neutral soundstage can’t be beat for my ears.
While mine are against the wall they are a few feet away from the corner, which if I remember correctly, was the recommended placement.
The oa 14s replaced my second favorite speaker for sound staging the ohm Walsh 2.
