Soul Step Announces SSR-081!

Soul Step Records are back again with ANOTHER vinyl release from ANOTHER incredible independent artist. We’re back to celebrate the upcoming release of a new bedroom pop classic, Modern Nomad’s “Bardo.”

Modern Nomad is the musical recording project / band of Baltimore Maryland’s own Tom McLean. Modern Nomad has been releasing some beautiful and lush arranged pop music since 2015 and continues to grow his fanbase with each and every drop. Modern Nomad records and mixes sounds that are heavily influenced by Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys.

On “Bardo,” Modern Nomad is a project recorded during the 2020 quarantine and Modern Nomad develops recurring emotional themes of falling in love and personal growth due to the pandemic. All the good and all the bad.

We are so pleased to bring you this record. Not only are you getting the incredible indie pop of “Bardo,” but this particular vinyl gets you something very special! On the B-Side you get EXCLUSIVE instrumentals, demos, and acoustic versions of “Bardo.” These are exclusive to the Soul Step Records vinyl release and are a treat to see the depth of work that goes into Modern Nomad’s music and production.

The Soul Step Records Subscriber release will be on Saturday, September 18th and the general public sale will begin on Monday, September 20th. The tracks on this LP can be found on streaming on all services right now.

That price tag though.

OUCH.

I'm really only interested in those live performances. El Camino was about the time where I stopped enjoying the music they put out.
