Yeah I still have this CD and Ghetty Green. 2k copies is a lot for a somewhat niche release, maybe I'll see if it hits my local or something.Streaming this now. Blast from the past, still holds up well. Not sure I need it for $40, but maybe I do

I’m mostly just interested in the idea another label is interested in doing some higher-quality pressings, not just more mediocre variants for the big boxes.I think I purchased the MoFi of The Cars for around the same price and that one was confirmed to be AAA so I am good there.
Is it just me of does the Obi and insert seem very VMP-ish?

Black Unity (Verve By Request Series) Third Man Variant LP
For 1971's Black Unity, Pharaoh Sanders added groove to foundation of spiritual and free jazz he had explored on his previous Impulse! albums. Psychicemotus (Verve By Request Series) Third Man Variant LP
This excellent 1965 album from the always versatile Lateef runs the gamut musically, from the Coltrane influenced “Semi-Octo” to soulful reads of standards from Hammerstein/Kern, Fats Waller and Erik Satie, and a beautifully rendered original “Bamboo Flute Blues”. Interesting “High Fidelity” series from Rhino. Coltrane and the Cars leading off. KG cut from analog and pressed at Optimal. Could be interesting.

the thing about this title is the OG's are pretty much agreed to trump every other pressing , including the MoFi. The MOFI just rolls off too many highs and doesn't have that punch that the music and THOSE OCASEK DRUMS.
I wonder if KG makes this worth $45
Looks like the preorder is now up on Amazon.Anyone know what is up with this. I assumed we would see numerous other preorders for it. But, not currently in Drygoods store, etc. And, above link sold out.
