"The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark" is Intervention's first 180G LP to be pressed at Gotta Groove Records in Cleveland, Ohio. In addition to having a FIRM production schedule and shipping dates that we can absolutely rely on, GGR is the only plant we've found that can meet or exceed our stringent quality standards. Matt Earley and his team press beautiful records, and all Intervention 180G LPs will be pressed using GrooveCoated stampers that preserve the high-frequency content of pressed LPs over pressing runs. One of the true and rare innovations in vinyl pressings in decades!
What a time 1968 was for the burgeoning country rock scene! Gene Clark and Gram Parsons had introduced rock fans to some country flair with The Byrds’ Sweetheart of the Rodeo. After Sweetheart, Parsons broke auspicious new ground with The International Submarine Band (just a year before he’d make The Flying Burrito Brothers’ The Gilded Palace of Sin), while Gene Clark teamed with banjo genius Doug Dillard for this bluegrass classic, The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark.
The picking virtuosity of Dillard, Bernie Leadon and others on this LP meshes beautifully with Gene Clark’s soulful vocal presence and guitar. The repertoire is endlessly fun and engaging, but punctuated with somewhat somber Clark offerings like “She Darked the Sun” and “Something’s Wrong.”
Country rock is familiar ground to Intervention fans, as we’ve already tackled greats from The Flying Burrito Bros., and Gene Clark’s amazing solo effort White Light. This is the roots of the music that paved the way for the Eagles and countless others.
The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark is 100% Analog Mastered from the 1/4" 15-ips Original Master Tapes by Kevin Gray at CoHEARent Audio! The tapes sound beautifully dynamic and alive, with tuneful bass, extended highs and three-dimensional imaging. The IR cut has better separation and punch than ANY previous version of this amazing record!

Parranoul’s To See The Next Part of the Dream is getting a vinyl pressing here. Be warned it seems to be extremely pricy since it’s coming from Korea and they don’t seem to have intl shipping items set up yet (comes out to $127 shipped right now to the US). Seems like there will be an announcement later when they’ve figured out info for shipping items internationally at a not terrible price

Yes definitely wait for the international shipping. They stated it will be happening.

Thanks for the update!

One of the best Grindcore albums ever made

Interesting variant

What, the color or the $37?

Psychic Temple Plays Music for Airports is one of the best blind buys I ever made. The original composition on the b side of that record is fantastic.
That's good to hear because I'm thinking of going blindly into either the one I posted or this one. What I've listened to sounds very promising ( so maybe not completely blindly).

That’s a fun colorway. I’m not sure it’s $125 fun. But still fun.

Rival Schools and Run For Cover Records have teamed up to reissue the band’s iconic 2001 album United By Fate, arriving in both a standard edition this fall and an exclusive indie record store deluxe variant for RSD Black Friday. Available on vinyl for the first time since 2015, this is the definitive version of United By Fate - a special record that has defined an entire genre of music in the two decades since its initial release.

The United By Fate standard edition arrives October 28, 2022 and features the instantly recognizable baby-blue and white cover art. This edition is pressed on color vinyl along with an updated version of the original hype sticker from the initial release.

The United By Fate Deluxe Edition will come to indie record stores on exclusive blue vinyl on as part of RSD Black Friday on November 25, 2022, and features an additional disc with ten extra bonus tracks. This includes every official United By Fate b-side, all Rival Schools tracks from their 2001 split with Onelinedrawing (never before released on vinyl) as well as a never before heard acoustic version of the song Holding Sand performed by Walter in Berlin. Moreso, this collector’s edition is housed in a hard-cover reverse-board case with stamped lettering, holding a hardcover sixty-four page book featuring handwritten lyrics and never-before-seen photos from the band’s personal archives. There are 500 copies of this edition on Run For Cover Webstore exclusive green vinyl, available for pre-order now.

Rival Schools started as the once-new project of vocalist/guitarist Walter Schreifels, who as a member of Youth of Today, Gorilla Biscuits and Quicksand routinely reinvented the sound of hardcore. In Rival Schools he was joined by bandmates Ian Love, Cache Tolman and Sammy Siegler, whose other projects at the time include Iceburn, CIV and Glassjaw. United By Fate was a turning point, offering melodies rather than the abject fury and aggression of those earlier bands – and the result echoes still today serving as an influence for bands in the hardcore world and beyond.
