Saturday November 19
10:35 PM ❺ NBC Saturday Night Live
Play an artist featured/hosted/parodied on the venerable late night institution.

Elvis Costello & The Attractions "This Years Model" (1978 Radar Records; 2010 MOFI reissue)
The band ended up getting banned from SNL for 15 years for this performance. They were told not to perform their anti-media song "Radio, Radio" and like all good punk rock bands, they interrupted their planned song and played it anyway. Elvis Costello ended up returning for the 25th anniversary to interrupt the Beastie Boys to play Radio, Radio once more with them.

9:00 PM ㊿ HBO The Sopranos
Play a mafia theme album or some Classic Rock that Tony and Carmela woulda listened to back in the day.

I haven't watched The Sopranos (I know, I know), I found this official playlist on Spotify and picked a track: Ain't talkin' bout love.

Van Halen - S/T

The Dead were on SNL in April 1980. Al Franken and Tom Davis were writers for SNL at the time, and then filmed this little bit of gold at the 10/31/80 Warfield show (that Drums --> Space --> Fire on the Mountain on this set comes from). Worth it just for the "We can share the women, we can share the wine" line...
