NHL Thread Because There Isn't An NHL Thread

Where does his regular season accomplishments rank compared to other goalies who are currently in the Hall?
It's difficult to give a definitive ranking of HoF goalies as it often comes down to personal preference and the era they played in. However, if guys like Belfour (1 Stanley Cup, 2 Vezina Trophies) Lundqvist (0 cups, 1 Vezina) and Luongo (0 cups as a goalie, 0 Vezina, 1 Jennings Trophy) are highly respected Hall of Famer inductees, then so should MAF!

This new tv deal is ruining my playoffs. I get to watch like one game every three days and that’s dumb. How long does ESPN have tv rights in the states, because they can’t lose the fast enough.

Anyway, that Avs game was wild.

Oh, it's equally terrible as a cord cutter in Canada.

I'm in Toronto, the CBC is technically free, and they have an app called CBC Gem that allows you to stream the CBC channels. The games are also on Sportsnet, which is a paid for channel, which also has their own streaming service called Sportsnet+ which you pay dearly for.

Say I want to watch the game, you'd think I'd just go to the CBC Gem app and pop open the channel that is running the game, right? FUCKING WRONG!

It says I either have to watch it on the CBC (which I'm trying to fucking do), or Sportsnet+ (which I'm not fucking paying for). So either they force you to uncut the cord to watch a channel any other time you can stream for free, or pay for a dumb subscription to a third tier sports network.

Mind you, last year it all worked fine, and I COULD stream the games in this manner.

I don’t feel as bad then. Or misery loves company. Your SportsNet/+ is the same thing ESPN is doing. But every few days they toss a playoff game to TNT/TBS which is available on the Max app. But the ESPN games are not on the + version.

This is not a CBC problem. Sportsnet owns the rights; games are just free on Saturdays (only, I think) because CBC licenses them from SN for HNIC.

Canadian playoff games used to always be free on the CBC. I've watched them before on CBC Gem. It seems this season though they're blacked out on CBC Gem, but still available on CBC TV.

A guy like Jim Montgomery would be the type of coach that's a possibility in the future since he grew up in Montreal, speaks French and knows Kent Hughes. But he's not going to be available for a while. And everyone is happy with Marty for now. What he's done with the team this year is well beyond expectations, so there's zero chance the Habs would want him gone before next season.
Marty isn't going anywhere!
