The rat 🐀 is back!

Brad Marchand recovers quickly, it appears.

The Boston Bruins star will play Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings, head coach Jim Montgomery said, according to Conor Ryan of the Boston Sports Journal.

Marchand underwent surgery to repair both hips on May 27 and was given a six-month recovery timeline, so he's back exactly one month ahead of schedule.

Marchand, however, won't play in the back-to-back on Friday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

More to come.

The Carolina Hurricanes are trading defenseman Ethan Bear and a minor-league player to the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a fifth-round pick, reports TSN's Pierre LeBrun.

The Canes are also retaining a portion of Bear's salary, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

More to come.

I have no illusions, but this Habs teams is tons of fun. And it's the kids driving the play. Down 1-3, and bam, less than 5 minutes later two Caufield goals and one from Slavfovsky and it's 4-3. Suzuki with one earlier and an amazing pass on CC's second. Hope to hear those names for years to come.

That’s why I added Hextall to the fire squad

They soff. Michel is fully available for a second stint. He can fix that.
