New ultrasonic vinyl cleaner in the works: Humminguru

Small update - I can hear it perfectly well now, so maybe I'm younger than I think! Bad side effect is so can my girlfriend so I get the side eye, plus my kids wondering why I can't stop. Last night I had to stop as the dog was looking rather sad at me...

Still going v v well. 3 new releases that it's refused to spin and I've had to manually rotate. The 7" and 10" adapters are a bit more annoying than I'd hoped given the number of 7s I have to do - it's way more fiddly than LPs. I'm also burning through distilled water way quicker than I thought, perhaps because/even though I've cleaned 100+ records in 48 hours...

Initial impression: first record I chose was one I know has no skips but does have surface noise - the latest Target/Prince Official Store pressing of Purple Rain on purple vinyl. Side A was already flawless but I had the same issue as some others on Side B - some evident surface noise. It was especially noticeable on the B1 intro (When Doves Cry). It wasn't a record killer (plus it's my umpteenth copy of the album) but def noticeable. Listening right now - no kidding, the noise is gone. Like gone, gone. (Only some slight noise between tracks but that's really nothing )

Note: I used the auto deep cleaning w a 5 min dry

You all are killing me with these reviews and delivery shots! I’ve been in the process of building my own DIY vacuum-based cleaner, and it probably won’t be nearly as good as this.

I mean, I have a HG and quite like it in conjunction with my RCM. But I'll still give points for the EZ Bake Oven comment. It's not lazy and I like the style.
 
Just out of curiosity, is his degritter getting these records microscopically clean after ridiculously soiling them? Why can't he do the same sort of review but using newly opened or gently used vinyl? Wouldn't that be a hell of a lot more pertinent?

He keeps pointing to surface dust settling on records cleaned in the HG and using that as proof that the records haven’t been cleaned, which is almost willfully obtuse.

I just want more carpet cleaner. Cuz. Ya know. That’s what I usually handle right before getting my records out to play them….

This dudes methods lack a control and that’s why I hate them. 1/8 tsp of dust? Sure. Sprinkled and smashed? Why not.

He seems so hell bent on saying it won’t work that when he finds a way that it works he just out right exposes his flawed experiment in the first place.

This is baffling to me. What does he expect it to do? Vaporize the dust? Send it to another dimension? If something has dirt or dust on it, some of it is going to float on the water and get back on the record. It will easily come off with a dry brush.

I brush the dust off the records before I put them in the HG. His methodology is pointless. Does he think people go digging in the forest for records?

Wait, you don't? I am convinced there must be outdoor record stashes just as there always seemed to be outdoor porn stashes for juveniles to find.
