Past two weeks. Well...

🔥
  • Madison Cunningham - Revealer [she's done it again]
  • Sudan Archives - Natural Brown Prom Queen [YES. FUCK YES. All this time I've been speaking of the creative possibilities within the art pop subgenre with you all, and this album is another exemplary release. The intersection with an original R&B sound makes this stand out even more]
👍
  • 明日の叙景 - アイランド
  • Darkswoon - Bloom Decay
  • Djo - Decide [perfectly competent synthpop. Thanks, @Fleetwood-Matt]
  • Miya Folick - 2007 (EP)
  • Greentea Peng - GREENZONE 108
  • Jesca Hoop - Order of Romance
  • Ari Lennox - age/sex/location [always a treat to hear Lennox sing, even if this album's production is familiar in this modern era of R&B]
  • Santigold - Spirituals
  • Tenka - Hydration
🤷‍♂️
  • Sarah Davachi - Two Sisters [that's three meh albums in a row from Davachi, last year's Antiphonals is the worst of the batch]
  • Kenny Beats - LOUIE
  • Megadeth - The Sick, the Dying...and the Dead! [it's honestly not bad. Expectations should be tempered, but it is competent thrash metal from a classic thrash metal group in 2022, and that's good enough for me]
  • Jessie Reyez - YESSIE
👎
  • Rina Sawayama - Hold the Girl [seems like she sold out here. Outside of two or three tracks, I didn't find anything memorable. Her vocals are excellent as usual, but the production holds this back virtually throughout]
🤮
  • The Mars Volta - The Mars Volta

Agreed 💯 on Sudan Archives, one of the best from this year, but I must disagree with you on Rina although I get what you're saying 😉

I mentioned this on a pre-order thread a bit back but Ali McGuirk put out her new solo album Til It's Gone. Comes highly recommended for those who like that New England Indie-Soul vibe that's been experiencing a moment - reminiscent of early Lake Street Dive, Ripe, Juice, Couch, Melt, Alisa Amador in many spots - albeit a bit more on the "soul" side of many of those. She has a very strong set of pipes and pulled in some great session players.

Does anybody else go through @Bluecloud777 's list like me and go "Egypt folklore" well I have to listen to that...

The new 🆕 Alex G album "God Save The Animals" is a brilliantly crafted work of art! I've always been on the fence with this artist and his slightly off-kilter brand of indie folk music but for some reason this new project really resonated with me! Sonically it's his most consistent and cohesive album yet!

I have one addition to this exhaustive and informative list, thanks as always @Bluecloud777 . And technically this four track EP dropped on Wednesday, so it's not "New Friday," but it's new this week ;)

Zoon "A Sterling Murmuration" (shoegaze)
