New Music Friday!

I'll be happy to be proven otherwise because it means more great music, but I think I can safely call this my top release of the week already:

Solid spiritual jazz that feels like it would have been just as at home in the early 70s as it does now. Especially loving the low flute tones throughout. And Brandee Younger's harp when it shows up. In fact, this will likely fall second only to her album on my monthly chart.

I'd never heard of these guys before but Yusef Lateef's name featuring on the album's lead single certainly caught my attention and after listening to the song three times in a row, and seeing the list of guest features, I took a chance on ordering it. Very glad I did! I'm excited to go back and check out their earlier releases too.

Also, it's today's Bandcamp album of the day!

This is fantastic. Thanks for the heads up!

Need to check out The Bug - didn't realize he has a new album.

I'm really liking Halsey. I've actually never listened to her before but this album is great. It almost sounds like a traditional NIN Backing album over a pop album in a lot of it.

I agree with what you say about the Halsey album. I was very positively surprised about how good her new album is. I've liked her first two albums, but then lost track on her a bit. One of my favorite releases recently.
