New Music Friday!

I'd like to highlight some of my favorites from last Friday's releases (apart from the great shame album).

I've enjoyed listening to the Midnight Sister album "Painting the roses". Sometimes her voice gives me some Aldous Harding feeling. Some great songs on this like "Sirens" or "Satellite". It feels like a different kind of dream pop. Definetely worth checking out.

Also the Daniel Knox album "Won't you take me with you" seems very good to me. Reminds me a little bit on artists like Nick Cave, Rufus Wainwright or Mark Lanegan. Great melancholic sounds and an amazing voice.

The album "Dark" of German band Blackout Problems was enjoyable for me too. Very energetic, with some synthie pop/ Indie style.

Ok so I don't know much about Typhoon if anything other than it's a band fronted by Kyle Morton, a recording artist based in Portland, OR. I know his vocal style emulates Bright Eyes but I find he also channels the late Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, at least on this LP, and that's a very good thing in my opinion. I also read somewhere that he has worked with Mike Hadreas aka Perfume Genius recently and his influence is quite apparent on the new album from his compositions to the production and overall thematic arc. All in all it's a beautiful musical discovery for me and "Sympathetic Magic" 🎩 is hitting me in the feels.
