New Music Friday!

The new Kate Tempest album is gorgeous and human and surpasses all expectations. My expectations were pretty high after “Let Them Eat Chaos”. I might go for the deluxe CD though because it comes with a lyrics/poetry book.

Yeah, I was really impressed by this one as well on NPR first listen. I need to go back and listen to her previous stuff (I'll start with Let Them Eat Chaos)

listened to new bruce, madge, bill callahan (the full thing), and burial today

i think i might prefer ol' smoggy in shorter chunks rather than all at once? speaking of which, burial knows where it's at - short and good

bruce is pure glen campbell and as you say MAN can he sing...not that into tho

madonna is the best thing she's done since confessions on the dance floor

i can't see myself returning in a hurry to the last two

Got a lot on my plate today! Listening to Baroness as I type this, but also on deck:

Albums:
Springsteen
Bill Callahan
Kate Tempest
Psychadelic Porn Crumpets
Remo Drive
Bad Books
Los Coast

EP's & Singles:
Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds
Metz
Volbeat
Julien Baker
Joji
Editors
Sum 41

I'm about halfway through Baroness now, and I see why it's getting such good reviews. Big progression from the band imo. It's equal parts pretty and punishing, going further in both directions than Purple did

Eryn Allen Kane put out an amazing EP today called a tree planted by water.

“I wanted to get back to the roots of soul music by using simple melodies to paint complex narratives. “a tree planted by water” is an ode to soul music and soul singers who showed me how to write and sing with courage, strength, love and incontestable passion.”

Pitchfork's Album Reviews
Im listening to the new Raconteurs album now and its brilliant. Hoping my vinyl pre-order has arrived by the time I get home from work tonight.

I've been listening to this album a lot this week on your recommendation and really like it, thanks!
Very cool to hear you're enjoying it, Eryn is such a cool artist. I'd definitely recommend some of her earlier singles too, especially Have Mercy and Piano song.
