New Music Friday!

My favorite "review" of the new Caribou album:

"This is what Kevin Parker wishes The Slow Rush sounded like."

Hah! I love both albums, but this seemed fairly on point.
You know, I actually had the same thought when first listening.
"Caribou achieved what Tame Impala wanted to achieve with recent release"

It's so good. I need to give it a break and get to this Soccer Mommy album though. I was excited about that one too and haven't even listened to it yet because I've had Suddenly on repeat all day!

Finally getting around to checking out new music today! Excited to hear The James Hunter Six, Caroline Rose and Jhene Aiko

stephen malkmus - it's a very strong album, really liked all the velvets-y stuff in particular
mandy moore - so inoffensive it's offensive
u.s. girls - a bit disappointing? it's fine but depth isn't there
megan thee stallion - best thing she's done
caroline rose - as per megan, easily her most realised work to date

so far the only thing i'm interested in hearing of stuff out today is four tet, of which i am on first listen

any other tasty releases this week?
Well, I mean, Jay Electronica actually released an album so you should probably at least give that a listen. Other than that and Four Tet, this is my must listen list:

Shabaka and the Ancestors - We Are Sent Here By History (Jazz)
Sam Gendel - Satin Doll (electronic/jazz)
Gabe Lee - Honkey Tonk Hell (roots country)
King Iso - World War Me (rap)
Nazar - Guerrilla (experimental)
Clear Soul Forces - ForcesWithYou (hip hop)
