Since we are talking about Bossa Nova. I really think VMP missed the boat in classics when it did the Getz/Byrd album. I just recently discovered Joao Gilberto-Joao Gilberto, amazing album. There is no recent reissue as well.

It does in my book, but I think it sits right on the edge of my definition. It isn't a "pure" form of indigenous/folk music, but it is not jazz only. It is jazz heavily informed by flamenco and other kinds of music.

Oh, it was that Elis? That woman had zero imagination when she had to come with a title for her albums, she has like forty-eight albums called Elis. That, or she barely knew any word in Portuguese. Me, I also know very few words in Portuguese: banana, feijoada, Xuxa, carnaval and morango. I know that morango is a word, but I don't know what it means. I think it's peach.
Oh, Xuxa would've been an awesome pick too. Everybody loves Xuxa.
