Gdnight.
Well now I HAVE to listen to this:

Sorr6 I’m still playing catc( up but I’ve seen your clues now and have more “inspiration“
So clue 2 looks like a real life Bob Ross painting.
Theme tune for Bob Ross composed by Larry Muhoberac.
Ergo

I feel 2021 will be my year of pure gold H&G AOTM guesses.

We still have lots of the 1982 markers/symbols/art work from the WF. You can still go up with Sunsphere. There's a band called Sons of Sphere. "the 1982 Worlds Fair...You've got to be there"

I just crossed the ones out that weren't their last album.

acer rubrum or carolina maple or....

and i have no idea where this leads us to

well there is a band from durham called maple stave

I would not be surprised if, as Lee is giving one hint per day, these firsts were only to point in the direction of where the artist/artists comes from. So my new guess (forget Incredible Bongo Band, Rayman and Bloc Party) is that it's a band from North Carolina but I won't say it's name for now (mainly because I have no idea).

EDIT: funny that you can't like your own posts but you can report your own posts

Found this. Probably not it since it was mentioned once in the forum but it linked to a few hints (Joe Troop is from NC, Monts Great Smoky are a sub range of the Appalachian mountains, it's considered Country music). Sounds great.
