ADI OASIS - LOTUS GLOW

i am really excited about this album and her potential as an artist. there was very little mention of her on here, pretty much just in the pre-order/new music thread when this album came out in march.

i saw her here in june, where she was ~6 months pregnant, and her energy was contagious and her playing (as well as her band) was top notch. i knew she would be an artist i would be following from that point on.

i went down a rabbit hole after that. when i was chosen to pick this month's record, this was in the shortlist of strongly considered albums.

i reached out to her management about participating here, whether an ama or responding on her own time to questions or some other engagement, but guess what, she just had her baby, so she has quite a few higher priorites to attend to at the moment.

here are a couple videos, the last one a performance earlier this year. skip to 40min if you just watch one to see dumpalltheguns, which was the song she played the night i saw her that sealed the deal for me.

more to come.

Purchase Options:

i believe she benefits the most if ordered from digger's factory directly, so i urge purchasing it this way, and there are international options. i don't know how different shipping is, though:

there are a few webstores that carry it (though a lot less seem to have it in stock than just a few weeks ago- light in the attic and deepdiscount/importcds were ones i was expecting to link):

Adi Oasis - Lotus Glow 2LP (this one is marked up quite a bit, though)

Adi Oasis - Lotus Glow - (Vinyl LP) | Rough Trade (eu)

Adi Oasis - Lotus Glow - (Vinyl LP) | Rough Trade (uk)

there may be others but looks like it could be some work to find via google and whatnot, so again the diggers factory site is the recommended one. hopefully they have enough stock left to handle a few orders.

Her bandcamp has digital versions of the album AND the instrumentals if you just want the funk:

this is a fantastic interview with a song-by-song breakdown of lotus glow that gives you a pretty decent picture of just who adi oasis is and where her influences and drive comes from

her old band escort is worth checking out- disco/dance/electro/funk blends

looks like what i was hoping to pull together will not happen, unfortunately (but understandably). alas. so an old-fashioned guess thread it is.

i'll fill in more info above and my intentions soon, but for now, your first clue is thus:

Audio track is Heatwave's - The Groove Line written by Rod Temperton who, after being recruited by Quincy Jones, "... wrote several successful singles for Michael Jackson, including "Thriller", "Off the Wall", and "Rock with You".[2][1] He also wrote songs for George Benson, including "Give Me the Night" and "Love X Love", along with Patti Austin and James Ingram's United States number-one single "Baby, Come to Me", among many others.[2] Temperton wrote the soundtrack for the 1986 film Running Scared. In 1990 he won a Grammy Award for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella for Birdland.[2]"

EDIT: Instead of replying to every hint, I'm gonna reuse this post to use as a sounding board for the clues.

"Hello, who is it." in French translates (according to Google) to "bonjour qui est-ce"
The Weeknd received that award in 2015 for his album Beauty Behind the Madness
Heatwave has been sampled 12 times
Mastering Engineer for Of the Girl by Pearl Jam, done by Ed Brooks. Mixing Engineer, Brett Eliason.
Bebe's Kids voice cast.
Red-Purple mix is close to Magenta. Image also gradient.
