Melancholic Music

Lots of my fav's (The Microphones, Songs: Ohia, Low, Antlers, etc...s) have already been named but here are a few others I quite enjoy.

Bit of a strange one here, but I love it. So there's a British Synth-pop musician called Frankmusik who released a pretty big (at the time) album in 2009 called 'Complete Me'. Its video for the lead single, Confusion Girl feature Holly Valance. Anyway, he later released another album called Completely Me, which had the same track listing as Complete Me but all the songs were acoustic. Its a lovely album and the acoustic version of Confusion Girl is stunning:

 
Few albums put me in an instant mood quite like Daughter - If You Leave. Breathtakingly sad and beautiful.

I think this one takes the edge as my favorite track.
 
I listen to Phoebe Bridgers a lot for sadness. Especially "Funeral."
