Heads up on RSD BF coming up. These two are for me the prime jazz titles - neither are recycled, spotty live material or even more spotty out-takes. These are good.
Gary Saracho - En Medio is late vintage Impulse, a title that went nowhere and disappeared to the cutout bins almost as soon as it was released in 1973 and has never been reissued since. Too bad, it is a good album and quite fun to listen to, definitely of the era, yet very 70's California street vibe. This reissue is probably digital, but like the new Ptah reissue is a RKS cut. Sounds great.
The Mingus on Candid blue vinyl is a fine record with plenty of fine Dolphy and some Booker as well, and the RSD is a BG analog cut that greatly exceeds previous reissue attempts.
Kind of pushing the jazz definition, but Pucho and the Latin Soul Brothers- Super Freak is very horn driven, so maybe it counts. Anyways, it is a great record. Most of Side 1 is a Curtis Mayfield medley, so you can figure out where this one is at. Sound is fine, not excellent, but this isn't the Symphony and it has the fire.

I should also give mention far outside jazz (but not that far) to Captain Beefheart's Clear Spot, given a 2-LP expansion with a Bellman cut. It sounds fabulous, and is just a really cool Beefheart record. The presentation is outstanding, from the embossed cover to the gatefold and clear inner sleeves - and it is on clear vinyl. This one will end up a collectible.

And another RSD passes by...
