My guess is that even though Fables is from 85, the OG is not digital. Bought new from Spinners Records in Kamloops back in 1985. A great sounding record that I love. About the only thing I can play on guitar is the opening to Feeling Gravity’s Pull

The original japanese pressing of Rio is the way to go as far as I'm concerned. This uses the UK mixes, which I have a preference for in album form. If you prefer the faster US album (or "Carnival") mixes, then you need to go for a US or Canadian press. But you'd have difficulty getting copies quieter than NM-/EX japanese pressings.

Is Leonard Cohen from 1985 analogue? The original Canadian pressing I found at Aux 33 Tours in Montreal last month is absolutely fabulous.

It just breathes and pulls you in. I’ve never felt a need to get a shiny new reissue of this album. Maybe after I wear this one out
