I’ve been doing weights at home 3 times a week for about a month now. Physical change is slow, but I can feel myself gradually getting stronger, which is nice.

Now if only I could rid myself of unhealthy eating habits...

Still, I’m working against at least 25 years of poor fitness, so any change is good.

I added weight training into my routine in May and I'm seeing some real results. I'm about 10 lbs away from my goal weight, but I'm in my goal size so everyone must celebrate with me!
Body weight is just a number. It's information in a vacuum. That number will never bring happiness on it's own. What matters is how you feel throughout the day and how you feel when you look in the mirror. That said, weight training is going to make you feel better in both ways and I commend you.

I picked up an Oculus Quest back in May, and have recently added BoxVR to my exercise routine. In fact, the past couple of weeks, that's all I've been doing - 30 minutes of VR boxing, six days a week. Trying to drop a little weight.

Jury's still out on the weight loss, but it's an entertaining way to work up a sweat.

Another runner here! Just getting back at it after a two year hiatus while a partial achilles tear took FOREVER to heal. I had some weight to lose before I started going any sort of distance, but I did my first 5k in over three years last weekend and placed 2nd in my age group and 13th overall! Granted, there weren't a lot of FAST runners I guess as my time was 26:37. I was happy with it, but it's not the speediest 5k by a sight haha. My 5k PR is 22:28, which I would love to get near again. I've done many half marathons and one full. I also got into Tough Mudders and Spartans for a bit. I don't have time or funds for that craziness any more. I'm just going to sign up for local races as they arise, maybe work back towards a half next fall if things go well. Here in Maine we're coming into the season where running becomes challenging, but I am going to try to do as much as I can through the winter months. I try to mix in some body weight work and some lifting as well, but I don't do either as often as I should!

I do a kickboxing class on Mondays and I'm thinking about adding weighted gloves to my workout. Another woman in the class says that it really takes it up a level. I'm not sure if you could do weighted gloves with VR boxing but it might be something to try.

Currently, I'm into weight training. Want to get into running though, I used to be so fast but now I've considerable slowed down. Should probably do more outdoor running than just treadmill.

I’m gonna try to work up to 45 minutes, then might add a weighted vest or weighted gloves. I do need to be able to hold the VR controllers, so I’m not sure how that would work...

Interesting. I spend a good deal of time inside one for work so I have zero interest once I step away from the office.

I can understand that. I tend to do it first thing in the morning. Wakes me up.

I spend the rest of the day sitting, so it’s nice to get some activity up front.

I HAVE to work out in the morning. I'm ansy at my desk all day otherwise.
I mostly do it so I have another excuse to wake up with my wife, otherwise I’d just sleep in like the slug I am. Also, doing it in the morning means I don’t have to make time for it in the evening when I’d rather be doing other things. Kind of a win-win!

I’m on that same boat with you lol
My wife leaves for work at 6:30 and I don’t go in until 9. If I don’t work out and stay in bed I feel bad and lazy!

Finally getting back to a gym after 3 years. Winter has made it hard for me to be motivated and my measly 10lb weights and foldable exercise bike hasn’t been cutting it.

I’m not a fan of the headphones I use currently and am interested in Bone Conduction Headphones. Regular headphones are crap when running and the placement in my ears makes the music “whoosh” with my steps/movement. Does anyone use a set they like? I’ve never tried them before and are curious about them. Can other people hear your audio through them?

My wife uses the Trekz brand. She really loves them. I am too much of an audio purist. They absolutely work to let you hear outside as well as the music. You can forget anything hifi, though.

hmmmmmm. I'm not really an audio purist especially when exercising. But how bad is bad though?

is it like listening to tinny 128kbps files?
