My long-suffering wife has let me pull the trigger on this, to celebrate my upcoming cake day, SOTA Escape Turntable with Origin Live Silver Tonearm & Condor Speed Controller . The open box price works out to a free Origin Live Silver tonearm.
I want to stay made in USA for the cartridge. The Soundsmith Otello or a Grado are my short list. SOTA is using Grado at CAF with their upcoming Quasar table. I’m really excited because this will be significant upgrade for my system. I hope to hear what I think I am missing.

I cannot accurately express in words how much I hate the look of:

Remarkably good, better than some of the multi-hundred-thousand dollar setups. I agree with you on the aesthetics, though.
