Definitive Audiophile pressings

Although the Santana is gone it seems Plaidroom also restocked a handful of other MoFis like TRex Electric Warrior, Grateful Dead Blues for Allah, Simon and Garfunkel PSR&T, Natalie Merchant Tigerlily. Maybe some others? Not sure

Damien Rice fans... you can pick up O and ...Faded Fantasy here:

I think these are pretty hard to track down for a reasonable price these days.

I have O and it sounds great. Pressing has a few clicks but mastering is awesome.

EDIT: of course the mastering is awesome “KPG@CA”

Must have been a restock or something lately. I grabbed O on Amazon a month or two ago.

I'm jumping in here to recommend this pressing:

It sounds awesome, don't know who did it but I think it deserves a mention here.

This recent reissue sounds great! Grabbed it in the last target sale and I definitely recommend it!

Coltrane - Live at the Village Vanguard
This!!! I'd much prefer a great release the full "Complete" Village Vanguard set, but this will do for now. Obviously, Coltrane is a force of nature on "Chasin' the Trane," but I often focus on Elvin Jones, an absolute driving rhythmic beast.

I love this "review" of this group (from in Wikipedia), summarizing as a negative what made this group so incredible: In reaction to the Quintet's residency at the Village Vanguard in New York City starting in late October 1961, Down Beat critic John Tynan described the group as "musical nonsense being peddled in the name of jazz" and "a horrifying demonstration of what appears to be a growing anti-jazz trend."

Great list. I already have Mingus 'Black Saint' and Ella "Swingin Christmas' and 'Ella & Louis' but the quality of these releases so far is going to make it real hard not to double dip.

That complete ‘61 Vanguard set literally changed my life. I first heard it as a teenager who primarily listened to punk, and I was like - THIS IS PUNK!
