My week: Had to return to the office for the week, so I mostly listened to older favorites. Gave the new Aesop Rock a listen too, really like it. Lion King was my Niece's kid's request, they wanted to listen to Simba, not watch it. They're fascinated by my speakers and sound coming from them...

Great week of new music, can't pick a favorite. I keep going back to James Blake and Joey Pecoraro's new ones, and this week was the anniversary of Eyedea's death so By the Throat was a must.

My week

All over the map this week with the streams.

A record collecting friend just got an album he made and I really enjoy added to Spotify. Super pumped for him. For fans of Boards of Canada.

My May streams. For new stuff, Arlo Parks (R&B), Bayonne (Chill Electro-pop), Seinabo Sey (R&B), & Gecko & Tokagr Parade (Jazz) were all stand outs. I liked a lot of Temps too, especially the back half of the album.

Seinabo Sey's ‘The One After Me’ is excellent, been 5 years since her last. "...a reflection of Sey’s journey back to her musical roots, drawing inspiration from the R&B of her teens, the reggae music of Gambia, and the freedom to create music on her own terms."

My week: That Temps album is a trip, going to take a few listens to fully digest. Really love the swing on the new Jorja Smith single Little Things.

New SBTRKT and Busdriver albums are solid, gotta give them both a closer listen. Others were all revisited favs from this and prior years. That Dessa album is such a great ambitious live album, orchestra really breathes new life into her songs.

April My April was dominated by mostly older albums I love. Dijon's Absolutely has become a full on obsession album and Matt Maltese's Driving Just to Drive snuck in the last Friday to be my favorite new release of the month and maybe the year so far, for a full album.

Lots of old favorites this week with a few very solid new releases from Rum.gold, Matt Maltese, & KAMAUU.
