I’ve had the 598s for 8 years and love them. So much that I might spring for the 599 at this price.

Did you do the 599 or 599SE?

So you didn't pay $35 more for a different color that will become dirty much faster? Right, you are.

No I didnt. Especially since the other color was fugly.

I used the 598's for a while and quite like them. Maybe a little shy on the high end, but they're super comfortable for long listening sessions - and I mean both wearing them and how the sound doesn't become aggressive or tire you over time. I since moved on to Meze 99's as my main cans, but those Senn's are great for the price.

Agreed on comfort. Had some Audio Technicas that I sold because they felt like pins being jabbed into my ears after about 30 min of listening

I probably went through the same Audio Technica's (M50X). Used them for about a week and returned them to Amazon for the reason you mention.

I have some Sennheiser HD 599 SE that I use every now and again. I don't use them all that often, but they sound fine to me. I usually only use them when streaming a podcast or something.

Open backs, like for studio production?

Yes open back.

I also have the 598 that I still use every once in a while as well. Never had any issues with it - great sound. I've always prefer open over closed though.

I have different Sennheisers, but I love them. Hopefully these serve you well!

599 SE my everyday go tos, for the $65 i paid for them the sound quality can't be beat at this price imo.
