I thought they were out of newly written material but not necessarily broken up. AQ has put out two solo albums plus some work with others in the time since their first album.
Maybe it is because they are local, but I’m actually happy to see that they are working on new stuff. The backlash they are getting for milking their debut album is weak to me. I’m glad they got theirs, particularly as tough as it is for artists out there today.
I saw them play a free gig in a record store in Texas. They stayed after the gig to make sure they met and talked to every single person that wanted an autograph. I’ll happily support these guys. Can’t hate them for hustling.
Their album came out less than a year before the world shut down (9 months or so). They played a lot of live shows before the pandemic, and I remember them being one of the earlier bands to get back out there to play live. People act like they were forced to buy all of the album variants or something.
@Melt Face Molly Drop Those two AQ releases are quite good. One is all instrumental, I believe, and the other features a variety of female guest vocalists.
Last show I saw before Covid shut the world down. They played in a tiny venue in Oak Cliff, the Kessler Theater. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. Held the crowd in the palm of their hand. Very excited for new material.
They are great live. I still love the first album (It was the N&G AOTY 2019, lest we all forget). I will gladly listen to a new album! I've been a fan ever since what's her face who ran rising put their first single on a playlist back in the old forum days.
