Ok.

Not everything needs to get got. But if you find yourself asking these questions often, and you've never actually tried to "get it," then maybe it's time to move on.

I actually agree, but I know enough superfans that I’m willing to just take the L, scuttle off into a corner with my Fiona Apple and my Deerhoof shirt, and be an outsider.

Just some thoughts of mine. I’m not mad or anything, just confounded. Can’t think of another artist of that level of popularity where I don’t at least see the appeal.

I mean, I don’t see the appeal of Ed Sheeran at all. Look at virtually any popular artist. Vapid just feels like a lazy dismissal.

I would like to note that I'm probably considered a Swiftie by Proxy (wife). I do like Folklore, 1989 and Reputation. New one is growing on me. For some people though she's been making music for their entire lives (coming up on 20 years), which we shouldn't discount as a product of her becoming an institution. You see how someone else's art affects someone and it changes the way you look at it.
