Not a huge fan of the built-in pre-amp at that price point. Is there an option to exclude it?

@Melt Face Molly Drop comes without it by default. it's a cost-added option.

the Ortofon Blue adds about $200 to the price of that by default

yea, i only briefly looked at the main page’s listed price, i may end up upgrading to this next year for my bday

the fact that i already have a uturn that's about 500 dollars makes me unsure whether a theory would be an upgrade... since it might be better to just buy a new 1K turntable like the mofi or a rega or a project
