The "Assembly Cut" of Alien 3 is actually not as horrible as people make it out to be imo. Not as good as the first two but decent. Resurrection is pretty bad, but it's fun bad and I think it knows it's ridiculous. The two new Scott ones, meh.

@gaporter Yeah I havent seen anyting past Aliens but am morbidly curious about the rest. Read the plot summary for Resurrection and it sounds bonkers.

Agreed, I liked Alien 3 when I finally saw it a couple years ago.

I definitely want to read the comics when Marvel reprints them next year. I've been told it's on it's own post-Aliens timeline.

I saw Aliens 3 in the theater. I’ve never wanted to revisit it. However, if your expectations are reasonable, sure, why not…

Even the worst Aliens are fun for at least something, so I vote do it. (One caveat: I've not yet seen Covenant.)

I like Alien 3 only because you can see what Fincher was trying to do...and what he started with. You could always move on to all the bad Alien rip-offs - like Inseminoid

I used to enjoy Alien 3 but that was watching it on VHS on an 18” tv. A couple years ago I grabbed the special edition disc and found the CGI to be so awful. Previously it wasn’t so noticeable to me. I watched the extended cut as well and wasn’t feeling it. AVP is bad. AVP: Requiem is really bad but enjoyable in a way. Prometheus wasn’t bad and Covenant was a mess but somewhat watchable.

I should also say that no matter how much they can let me down, I will still watch every Alien and Predator movie at least once.

@dirty hands I've only ever heard bad things about the AvP movies, but man does the kid in me love that concept and wants to watch it.

Have you watched The Movies that Made Us on Netflix for those movies?

@DJSJ idk how they fucked up every nerds wet dream, but they did. If you’re bored as hell with no expectations then just have a go and regret it later.

Yes, watch Prometheus and Alien Covenant, even though i wouldn't personally do that since they're prequels and i watch them before Alien and Aliens Maybe watch one of the Alien 3 cuts but i would not bother with Alien 4 or the AVP movies.
