I'm more overwhelmed by how people are praising this when all the songs I heard were just ok to lackluster.

Also not going into the "is she a plant" debate because that only really matters if there is a clear feeling of manipulation and the artist doesn't do anything unique

I am old enough to remember people accusing Paramore of ripping off Avril Lavigne and No Doubt. The internet is a dumb flat circle.

And also "she's Taylor Swift meets Billie Eilish" is what I've read in a dozen articles.

Ultimately, if she's anything close to as good as Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lorde, Paramore, or Kathleen Hanna we should all be pretty happy with it.

Also, didn’t she first enter the scene as a Disney actor who.... sang cover songs? Are we surprised?
